🍣 Rice Secret

The key to great sushi is the rice, not just the fish! Use premium short-grain rice and season it while warm for the best texture and vinegary balance.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Sushi Rice (Short grain)
  • Sushi Vinegar (Rice vinegar, Sugar, Salt)
  • Fresh Sashimi-grade Salmon and Tuna
  • Nori Sheets
  • Cucumber and Avocado (Sliced)
  • Wasabi, Ginger, and Soy Sauce

Instructions

  1. Cook Rice: Wash and cook sushi rice. Season with sushi vinegar while cooling.
  2. Prepare Fish: Slice salmon and tuna into thin nigiri-style pieces.
  3. Roll Sushi (Maki): Place nori on a bamboo mat, spread rice, add cucumber and avocado. Roll tightly and slice.
  4. Shape Nigiri: Press a small amount of rice in your hand and top with a slice of fish.
  5. Plating: Arrange on a platter with ginger, wasabi, and a bowl of soy sauce.
