Chocolate Chip Cookies
👨â€ğŸ³ Chef's Secret
Chill the dough for at least 24 hours (or even 48 hours!). This chilling time allows the flavors to mature and prevents the cookies from spreading too thin. Also, sprinkle a tiny pinch of sea salt on top before baking for a professional touch.
Ingredients
- 2.25 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup Granulated white sugar
- 3/4 cup Packed brown sugar
- 2 cups Semisweet chocolate chunks/chips
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 2 Large eggs
Preparation Steps
- Creaming: In a large mixer, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 mins).
- Eggs & Vanilla: Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Dry Goods: Gradually add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix on low speed until JUST combined (do not overwork!).
- Chocolate: Fold in the chocolate chips with a wooden spoon. Wrap the dough in plastic and CHILL in the fridge for 24-48 hours.
- Baking: Scoop tablespoon-sized balls onto a lined sheet. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 mins until edges golden but center still soft. Let them cool on the sheet for 5 mins.
